CatalystsX
A world of thoughtful, responsible changemaking.
Who we are
We are a non-profit supporting “catalysts” – changemakers, social entrepreneurs, activists, communities, organizations. Catalysts share one thing in common: they’re trying to build the world they want to live in – in a good way. Our job is to help them make that happen.
Community Hub
The Community Hub is a place for members to learn and grow together. Start a discussion, pose a question, share opportunities, collaborate, and contribute tips and information. We would love to have you join our community of changemakers!
We are building a community
Our mission is to cultivate and accelerate catalysts by connecting them with the people, resources, and opportunities they need to survive and thrive. One way we work towards this mission is to create a strong network of catalysts working and growing together. Become a member to join in on the Community Hub, take advantage of special events, funding opportunities, and more! Becoming a member is free – we are excited for you to join our community of changemakers!
Our story is your story
CatalystsX has been honoured to work alongside hundreds of catalysts over the years. Each individual and organization has an amazing story to tell! These stories of growth make us who we are, and we hope they will inspire you to become part of our story, too!
Digital Literacy
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is helping to fund the development of a digital literacy toolkit through its Community Investment Program. Designed in collaboration with First Nations communities, the toolkit will help support the digital literacy needs of First Nation and other Northern communities. This tool kit will contain training guides, tools, and resources.
Northern Lights Collaborative
The Northern Lights Collaborative (NLC) is an Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Youth Opportunities Fund project that connects people across Ontario and Canada. Through means such as programming, events, and advocacy, the NLC empowers youth facing barriers to lead, advocate, and contribute their voices to their communities.
Financial Literacy
Better the World, Balance Your Books is a program designed for aspiring or current entrepreneurs. It delivers a rule-of-thumb approach to modules addressing essential topics in financial management and investment readiness. You’ll learn a set of habits and best practices that will contribute to your organization’s financial health, with a sampling of tools and resources to guide you along the way.
CoPILOT Fellowship
The Cx CoPilot Fellowship was a unique journey for young changemakers in Ontario who believe in the power of social innovation and entrepreneurship to change the world. Our goal was to equip our CoPilots with a unique set of tools to amplify an idea or project that has the potential to change a person, neighbourhood, community, country, or maybe even the world!
Changemaker Circles
Often, many of the changemakers we work with feel discouraged, overwhelmed, or like it’s “one step forward, ten steps back.” But people who’ve been making the world better for years know that lots of positive changes have come in the past few generations. Changemaker Circles bring people of many generations together to share, reflect, encourage, and motivate each other to keep doing great things!
Cx Academy
The Cx Academy was launched to create a support system for social entrepreneurs on university and college campuses in the Greater Toronto Area. Our goals were to help students and community members learn about and explore social innovation and social entrepreneurship, connect and collaborate with other social entrepreneurs and plug into Canada’s thriving startup and innovation ecosystem.
genIMPACT
Our genIMPACT events were a series of educational experiences and workshops that were designed to spark and stimulate curiosity in personal growth, learning, and making a better social impact. Each event and workshop was delivered by experienced facilitators and had special topics like “Financial Literacy,” “Digital Media for a Social World,” and so much more!

In our digital world, our literacy has never mattered more than in any other time in human history. Most of our communication now happens through written word – whether that be an email, text message, signage, books, or web pages. Humans are now expected to be able to...

What is a changemaker?
A changemaker is a catalyst of change, someone trying to build the world they want to live in – in a good way..
What do changemakers do?
Changemakers take creative action to solve social problems and work toward creating a better world for everyone. Whether organizing a street cleanup, volunteering in your community, organizing a Pride event, or starting a Social Enterprise or Non-Profit – all of our journeys as changemakers look different, but contribute to building a better world. It is important that we work together to share, create and celebrate!
How does CatalystsX help?
CatalystsX helps by connecting changemakers with the people, resources, and opportunities needed to survive and thrive. We do this work through providing helpful resources and opportunities – finding funding sources, hosting skill development workshops and networking events, acting as an organizational mentor, giving advice on next steps such as incorporating your nonprofit, and more! We give the space needed for changemakers to connect and grow.
